Jihye “Ashley” Bae, b. 2001 in Busan, South Korea and raised in New York, is a multi-media artist currently living and working in Los Angeles, California. She is a 2024 graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art. Bae has exhibited a passion for art at an early age, and has since embarked on a journey to a career in the Arts. Her style and work are constantly involving and her portfolio consists of a variety of mediums ranging from traditional painting to installation art. In Bae’s practice, there exists a multitude of different themes and visual styles, not all being cohesive with one another. However, they are all connected by the philosophy of cherishing and advocating for the things in life that are not taken seriously by the professional art world. Through years of introspection and taking on new challenges, Bae has created an artistic practice that has allowed her to stop making art for a specific audience or for external praise, but rather for self-fulfillment and establishing a sense of individuality.
